Symantec EV for OWA and JSA

Hi,

I've got a customer who wishes to use the JSA to front-end OWA 2003 but they have the Symantec Enterprise Vault plugin installed on the server. When accessing the page via the JSA the links and buttons disappear; I'm not seeing any denies in the event log and it is the same regardless as to whether or not I use the resource profile or do it "old skool".

I've seen the question asked before on other forums but no answer, Both EV and the JSA are so common that I can't believe that this doesn't come up more often, so before I raise a TAC case and spend hours looking at TCP dumps, has anyone else seen this and come up with a workaround?

Thanks in advance!

Kendal

Re: Symantec EV for OWA and JSA

Hi, To get Enterprise Vault to work correctly (using web access mechanism) you will have to follow the below steps.

1. Create a Web Resource Policy for allowing custom headers (Resource Policy -> Web -> Rewriting -> Custom headers)

2. Contact JTAC to get a rewrite filter license and a rewrite filter package for EV application (the filter package is called filter50375.pkg.encypted) and apply the license and rewrite filter package to the Secure Access platform (For details about rewrite filters refer http://kb.pulsesecure.net/KB10195 )

3. Once you have installed the filter ensure the following URL's are associated with the filter.

http://*:*/exchweb/*
https://*:*/exchweb/*
http://*/*/archiveexplorerui.asp*
https://*/*/archiveexplorerui.asp*
http://*/*/*/*/script/*.js
https://*/*/*/*/script/*.js

4. If you still face any issues with EV then kindly collect a session recording (dsrecord), policy trace and some screenshots of the errors and report via a JTAC case.

Alternatively you could create a selective rewrite policy and use some other access mechanism like WSAM or Network Connect. Hope it helps!

Re: Symantec EV for OWA and JSA

Hi,

After nearly two weeks I finally got the patch out of Juniper, and it doesn't work! I've included URLs you mentioned but still gotten no-where. Basically if you open up an archived mail it works, but all the buttons are missing..I'm going to go back to TAC but this is going to take some time, any other ideas? We are using EV 2007R1, apparently there is an R3 patch, not sure if that makes any difference..

I've attached a screen shot of the missing shortcuts, going direct to the OWA server.

Thanks!
