I'm setting up our Citrix apps on the SA2500 (running IVE 6.3R2)as a Listed application.
When adding the Citrix server, under Citrix Metaframe Server Credentials i'm presented with a username and (variable) password option.
Following the instructions on the page, I added <USERNAME> and <[email protected]> however when logging onto the appliance, I get an error message that states "Unable to load Citrix listed applications, please contact your system administrator"
My understanding is that by using those variables, it will use the user credentials and pass it on to the Citrix server when the user logs in, showing them the list of applications which they have access to.
Am I missing something here?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Once I created the resource profile for ours and put in our service account user / password the applications displayed just fine, but that is where it stops working for me.
I get a cannot connect message. "The Citrix Metaframe you have selected is not accepting connection." Even though I have a full range of citrix servers that run the application.
As well I note that custom ICA files do not show up. However this is something I was working on before and they can be done individually and I seem to be able to get 80% through that but I get other issues.
Hopefully we'll be able to piece this together.
I retested with <username> and <password> and it still I'm still getting the hosted applications displayed.
do you have a terminal services policy? When you go under Terminal Service Resource Profiles you have something under Supporting policies?
Could you post their guidance? Or is it something more than one can type out?
thanks
Hey Daver,
have you got a solution fix to this?
What is it that you are trying to do? Show all the applications or just 1 specific application. I'm no guru at this, just learning as I go myself.
Hi Dave109,
My issue is identical to yours. i.e no Citrix will not launch, not accepting connections etc.
I am able to renumerate all the available Citrix apps via xml, no problem. But just like you, it doesn't work.
Oh by the way, I have logged a call with Juniper who have advised that the issue with the ICA cient install will be fixed in 6.4R1 and 6.3R4.
Right now, I have my users connecting via Web Interface using WSAM as the transport mechanism. With WI, I am able to get auto client detect and an option for my users to install the XenAppWeb client (msi).
Icebun007,
Glad you have a call in. I've been tied up in another project so Juniper has taken a back seat. I'm looking forward to what support has for a solution.
Our situtation is a little different. I can't give them external access to all Hosted applications that they would use internally (privacy / security issues). So I have had to resort to creating ICA files for the published applcations and these work fine provided the user has a Citrix client installed on their PC. For this reason I hope they do fix that Client install issue. Did they say when they would release these updates?
Anyways once I create an ICA file i go to the Terminal Service Resource Profile and create a new profile using a Custom ICA file and with this I can specify the servers that run the program and the ports used. This will pretty much be a standard method for me, unless I can find something better.
I haven't tried the WSAM.
Did you take a course on this or have past experience with Juniper?
No all self taught.
I would recommend reading this book:-
Juniper Networks secure access VPN
ISBN 13: 978-1-59749-200-3
Release date end of March for the fix.
The problem is that there are numerous ways of getting Citrix to work. I publish Desktops so I need to make sure that I can server load balance via WI.
There are plently of wizards that can help you do this.
I have just this week got ICA java to work (via Hosted Java Applet) which means there is zero software to install on the client. Ideal for Kiosks etc. Limited functionality but fairly good in any case.
By the way, are you still having problems with the Citrix Listed Applications feature as well. When you look at it there is not a lot that can go wrong but I think it's a known issue (in 6.3R3 anyway)?
