The ESP connection to the server through web proxy is not supported, and fallback to SSL is disabled

Why am I getting this error and how should I go about debugging? I'm using macOS 10.14.6  and pulse secure 5.2.9 (1161)

Re: The ESP connection to the server through web proxy is not supported, and fallback to SSL is disa

Fallback to SSL option has been disabled on the VPN server, hence the Pulse Client will disconnect the connection. By default, Pulse Client will try to open up a ESP data channel with the VPN server, if it doesn't get any reply back from the server, it will fallback to SSL (TCP 443)

Please connect to VPN from a network where UDP-4500 traffic from the Client to VPN server is allowed.

Re: The ESP connection to the server through web proxy is not supported, and fallback to SSL is disa

Hi, i am getting the same error, but I can actually connect UDP-4500 packets all the way:

$ nc -z -v -u  xxxxxxxx.xxx.com 4500
found 0 associations
found 1 connections:
     1:	flags=82<CONNECTED,PREFERRED>
	outif (null)
	src 192.168.1.16 port 53027
	dst 192.127.94.96 port 4500
	rank info not available

Connection to xxxxxxxx.xxx.com port 4500 [udp/ipsec-msft] succeeded!

Please, where the problem could be?

@simon: that happens when a proxy is on the network; this is not supported (as the message indicates)

@hoboj: do you have a proxy on your network? if yes, that is expected behavior
