Upgrade Pulse Desktop

Trying to upgrade Pulse Desktop Connection from 9.1.8 to 9.1.10 and users are being told they don't have the appropiate permission to install the application.

We've done plenty of upgrades like this before. Would there be any reason why it would fail now?

Are there any particular User Access Control settings on Windows 10 that could impact non-admins upgrading?

Re: Upgrade Pulse Desktop

as long as the pulse secure installer service is enabled/installed as an admin, it should be working fine
if that is not functioning successfully, please open a case with our support team for further investigation

Re: Upgrade Pulse Desktop

Thanks. Do you know if it's possible to upgrade a subset of users for testing?

Normally it would just try and upgrade all users who didn't have the latest version of the client.

Re: Upgrade Pulse Desktop

you can manually install it for users to see if it helps; however, it cannot be tested based on a configuration from the appliance

Re: Upgrade Pulse Desktop

Thanks. if we manually install it, we expect an administrator/UAC prompt which doesn't help.

It's a pity we can't assign an upgrade to select users for testing though

Re: Upgrade Pulse Desktop

you are welcome; i apologize for that limitation. that sounds like an interesting idea. i would recommend reaching out to your account team for an enhancement request.
yes, without the installer service, the administrator/UAC prompt is expected.

Thanks @zanyterp for your assistance in any case. We have sent logs to the support team so hopefully they can help.

Yes, it would be nice to perform upgrades per roles, which would allow us to test a smaller number of people for issues.
