Upgrading SA2500 firmware from 6.5R3.1 (build 15255) to latest version

Hi,

We're currently using 6.5R3.1 (build 15255) on our SA2500 and are looking to upgrade to the latest version.  Can this be done directly safely?  We only have the one appliance, with no testing environment available.

Also, prior to upgrading, I plan to backup the config and the user config.  Will I be able to safely roll back without issue?  Is there any other precausions I should take?

Thanks

I've gone through a similar upgrade last year. We did do a fair amount of testing ahead of the upgrade, and for the most part it was uneventful. Few client issues here and there, but otherwise no major problems.

With that said, if you want an opportunity for some limited user testing, see if you can download the DTE release of the code you're upgrading to. http://www.juniper.net/support/downloads/?p=savadte

Great thanks.  I'll be sure to test using the DTE Appliance.

You can jump up directly, yes; and rolling back is as easy as a button press if needed. If your users are not admins, make sure to get the latest installer service using DTE or upgrade, save, and rollback during off hours. Otherwise, should be set
