VMWare VDI

Hello,

I have quick questions for anyone using VMWare VDI for remote users.

Currently our remote users open up Chrome and connect to the URL for the SSL VPN.  After they login there is an RDP link they click on to connect to a physical desktop PC.

Our goal is to elimiante the physical desktop PC and instead use a VMWare VDI solution.  We want to continue using the SSL VPN solution (not having to use a VPN tunnel).   Is this possible with VMWare? Does it require a VMWare client be installed on the remote laptop?

I have been reviewing settings under Users --> Resource Profiles --> Virtual Desktop profiles as well as System --> Configuration --> Virtual Desktops.   Also reading several forum posts and documentation but not entirely grasping how this all works with VMWare.

Re: VMWare VDI

Yes, it's possible.

You need to configure a virtual desktop resource profile. Here you define ipSmiley Tongueort of the vmware broker and the SSO, then the bookmark. Not much different to configure than an RDP resource profile.

Yes, Vmware Horizon client is required on the remote laptop.
