If a user logs on to an IVE into a role which enables Network Connect, and does not have the version of Network Connect consistent with the version of the software on the IVE, the appropriate NC client is downloaded and installed. To my knowledge, there is no way to avoid this.
Luckily, if you move back and forth between, say, a 6.2 IVE and a 6.3 IVE, both versions will be installed on your PC and no new download will occur when you do. Unfortunately, the same is not true for Host Checker.
