WSAM split policy?

Hi all,

Is there any way to configure the iexplore.exe application to access inside resources and also allow browsing to internet sites,

kind of split tunnel in network connect only in application mode.

Re: WSAM split policy?

I don't know of any elegant solutions, but I can recommend some solutions which could work:

(1) Create a clone of the .exe file for the browser program (e.g., "jexplore.exe") and use it for internet browsing.

(2) If you use a PAC file, or could use a PAC file, create a PAC file which sends all internal browsing to a proxy immediately on the internal side of the SA. Then, instead of configuring "iexplore.exe" as a program to WSAM, define the name of the proxy server, so that all traffic for the proxy goes through WSAM.

Hope these help, or stimulate some other ideas which might be more elegant.

Re: WSAM split policy?

not good,

1.after checking it, renaming the iexplore.exe to another one will not even start the browser.

2.there's no proxy server to redirect the traffic to.

any other ideas?

Re: WSAM split policy?

I must not have been clear enough in the first option. I have used it, and it has worked -

(1) In the \Program Files\Internet Explorer directory, make a copy of iexplore.exe and rename the copy to jexplore.exe

(2) Create a shortcut for jexplore.exe and move it (drag & drop or cut & paste) to your Desktop.

When you click on the shortcut for jexplore.exe, you will launch IE with a process name of jexplore.exe.
