Web Bookmarks and User Attributes

Hi,

Wondering if someone can help me, I am trying to make use of a user attribute in a web bookmark.

I am trying to pass the company name to a report URL, and this works if i log in and use the juniper bookmark page, however if I use a custom page... i.e my intranet, I can get the URL to work, but the attribute (<userattr.company>) does not get rewritten by the SA.

1. Is there a way to get the SA device to recognise this as an attribute to substitute in the URL?

2. Is there a way to use launch.cgi to launch a predefined bookmark on the SA rather than supplying in the syntax of url=www.xyz.com ?

Currently running SA2000 with 7.1R5

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you retrieving the company attribute during login (using LDAP)? If yes, that should work. To do that, you have to add it on the server catalog as an attribute to retrieve and then use <userAttr.company> in the bookmark

Can you expand in #2 what you are looking for?

Yes the attribute is being retrieved VIA LDAP, and it works fine if I use the attribute on a bookmark launched directly from the IVE bookmark page.

What I am trying to do is use the same attribute when access a URL from a custom page...

e.g <IVE>/dana/home/launch.cgi?url=www.xyz.com?company=<userAttr.Company>

As for option 2, it would be nice to be able to specify the bookmarks on the IVE and then call said bookmark on the custom page.

e.g <IVE>/dana/home/launch.cgi?web_bookmark_id=12345678

That way bookmarks are configured in a central place.

You are welcome; unfortunately, the system does not work this way. You will need to work with your account team for an enhancement request.
