What OS does the SA run (Security Related)?

We were doing a Vulnerability scan of our external range. The SA (SA2500 in our case), was detected as running Windows (Nessus said it was Windows).

I'd suspect it was either running Junos or Linux.

Any ideas? Documentation?

It runs a hardened Linux Kernel. I hope this helps.

Tell them to sort out their scanning tools Why it came up as windows I dont know.

We use a 3rd party company called NCC Group. They are good at doing pen test and scans, and identified this as a hardened OS.
