What do we need for MAG supporting 12,000 users?

Hi all,

What is the BOM if we need to deploy a MAG solution for 12,000 users?

1 x MAG6611

3 x SM360

3 x (2 x ADD-2KU license)

Can we achieve redundancy here? Cluster the 3 x SM360 as A-A-P (Active-Active-Passive) or A-A-A?

Hi Michael,

yes you can achive redunancy using the below MAG solution however it needs to deployed as Active-Active cluster and not not as active-Passive cluster.

1 x MAG6611

3 x SM360

3 x (2 x ADD-2KU license)

As per my knowledge we dont support active-passive with more than 2 nodes hence active-active cluster would be the ideal one to run with where you can have external load balancer to balance the load and route traffic accordingly.

But if you have 10K users you delpoy an 2 node active.passive cluster with MAG 360

Hi Michael,

Considering the number of users I would recommend an active-active cluster setup.

To have more than 2 nodes requires an active/active cluster.
That would give you the 12k users but I'm not sure on the redundancy factor at that level (if that is a concern)

Re: What do we need for MAG supporting 12,000 users?

Should we propose the following for Active-Active:
1 x MAG6611
2 x SM360
2 x (1 x ADD-5KU license, 1 x ADD-1KU license)

Is it okie?
Coz the max user for SM360 is 10,000 (not 12,000)...

Re: What do we need for MAG supporting 12,000 users?

Yes, that should be fine.

With the caveat that if something were to happen, the one node could only handle 10k of the 12k users (if they were all on at one time for the time to get the RMA back)
