Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

Keith - you are correct and my understanding is that IVS is being phased out - IE - it is another one of the "prior release" feature / functions - Juniper wants to move people who need IVS functionality over to the virtual machine based version aimed at the service provider market.

Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

Hi,

What are the differences between MAG 4610 and 4611?

Does it mean 4610 can provide VPN or NAC, whereas 4611 can provide VPN or NAC, both with application acceleration?

Does it mean the same with MAG 6610 and 6611?

Pls advise.

Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

Regarding the 4610 vs 4611. We just bought the 4610s a few months ago. We were told they were they way to go, as new features were released they would be brought to the mags. Now I am seeing a new model that supports app acceleration. Is there a way to upgrade a 4610 to have app acceleration? Or did we just buy last years model?

Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

4610 is a fixed chassis unit for SSL VPN or NAC (UAC)

4611 is a fixed chassis unit meant only for app. acceleration.

Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

So the 4611 does not have the same VPN or NAC capability? It's strictly VPN?

Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

It appears that the MAG line is merging three different sets of hardware SA, UC and WXC.

From the description the 4611 is replacing the WXC only and is not a dual purpose device.

Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

Thus, MAG line of products have the capabilities of the following:

1. SSLVPN (eg. MAG2600, MAG4610...)
2. Network Access Control - NAC (eg. IC4500?...)
3. Application Acceleration/ WXC (eg. WXC590, WXC2600?...)

Am I right?
