Re: What's the deal with MAG vs. SA?

Hi,

Is there an advantage of MAG over SA in terms of SSL VPN?

They are both SSL VPN; is there something specific you are looking to know?
As far as straight rewrite/core web access, there is no difference between the two systems.
The MAG systems are newer and currently the hardware that is being sold (as far as I know it is the only platform being sold, but I am in support not sales so do not have access to that information); the SA hardware is the legacy hardware. Both run the same OS.

Coz I was looking for something 'value-added' on MAG vs SA in terms of SSL VPN features...

The value-add is that the MAG is the "go-forward" platform. Code is pretty much identical except that there are a couple of features that are not offered on the MAG such as IVS as Juniper has a different approach to offering that type of solution.

The SAX000 series are EOL. The SAX500 series are still sold but as a reseller I can tell you we don't sell them except, as Zanyterp said - to legacy customers for compatability for things like clustering.

The MAG is newer, better form factor, etc. . .
