Official answer from juniper is After microsoft releases windows 7 officially. but you can do a custom regsitry check and look for windows 7 specific registry entries to support windows 7.

Re: Windows 7 in HC Policy?

October 22nd is for retail availability.

Symantec had the same policy until someone pointed out that corporate volume licensing subscribers have had it since August. They then released the version of endpoint protection that supports Windows 7. That was around a month ago and it allowed us to continue testing Windows 7.

Anyone got a favorite registry item which would signal that the machine is running Windows 7? Thanks - Ken

Re: Windows 7 in HC Policy?

Hi Ken,

We use SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CurrentVersion and put 6.1 as minimum version.

Re: Windows 7 in HC Policy?

We are using multiple OR checks for each version of Windows 7

Key/Subkey: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProductName
String; Windows 7 Enterprise

and so on for the different version. Not very elegant but it works for now.

Re: Windows 7 in HC Policy?

Does anyone know when 6.5r2 will be released so that we can start to add the host checker rules for windows 7 the way the rules are supposed to be added.
