Windows8 & JSAM - Cannot edit Hosts file error. How do I fix?

I have a user who has been using JSAM from home for awhile on her Win8 machine. All of a sudden she is getting the "Cannot Edit Hosts file" error when she logs in. I did some Google searches and it looks like UAC needs to be disabled. Is there any othet way?

Maybe the java version was updated, what is the software version on the SA/MAG software?
