XML Import Limitations

Howdy - I have a question for the commuity. I am working with the XML function and feel that one of the things that it lacks is the ability to deal gracefully with removal of data.

There is no "delete" capability per se. The only way to do this is to do a full export, remove what you don't need and then do a full import. This to me seems like killing a gnat with a bazooka.

However, I don't have any real depth of knowledge with XML outside of the SA box. But I would think that a "better way" would be to have some form of a flag that would act as a delete mechanism. To me this would add real power to the function.

Am I just way off base here? Anyone else even have an opinion?
