Re: cluster SA4500 with MAG4610?

Hi

You cannot combine  SA4500 with MAG4610 in a cluster. This is not supported.

SA4500 & MAG 4610 are two different hardware platforms. A cluster can be configured only with identical hardware models.

You can only do clustering between between MAG 4610 's or between  two SA 4500 devices.

Hope this resolves your query.

Re: cluster SA4500 with MAG4610?

My customer has a old SA4500  and they  want to buy  more one to implement cluster, but SA4500 will EOL in 12/31/2013 and replaced by MAG4610. Now , i have to buy SA4500 or MAG4610 ???

Re: cluster SA4500 with MAG4610?

Hi ,

I understand that the customer has got MAG 4610 as replacement for SA 45oo reaching EOL by 21/31/2013.

Since you already hava a new MAG 4610, I recommend you to get anothet MAG 4610 to build MAG 4610 cluster setup.

For this migration during a mainteance window  you can follow the below steps:

1. Ensure that the existing SA4500 is upgraded to latest SA firmware, export the XML, .cfg files

2. You can use this config files to be imported in the new MAG 4610 cluster setup.

I also recommend you to work with  your local Juniper SE to get appropriate information on knowing  the possibil;itied of hardware migration for cluster and how MAG4610 can be deployed in cluster
