hello
we have an sa4500 running 6.3R2 (build 13725) and i'm having an issue with automatic client delivery of the ica client.
I enabled the option to download the ica client (now XenAppWeb.exe version 11.00) from the ive.
I use this in combination with citrix listed apps with java fallback enabled.
Now when a client (iexplorer) tries to start a citrix app a prompt comes up to install the citrix client (yellow bar)
When the prompt from the installer comes up the window dissappears and the installer abborts and the java applet get's started.
How can i make it so that the citrix client get's installed?
Hy, for that problem, we have an open call since end of 2008, but we don«t get a solution till now. Only the workaround with a weblink for direct download from a webserver. If we get a solution i will inform you.
br thomas
i have solved this issue by publishing the MSI file on the ssl portal,
so when user signs in without a client installed , he just clicks the link to the MSI and installs it
and after that everything works for the user.
How do you have published the MSI, if i use a web resource to an internal webserver where the MSI is stored (active rewriting) i get an error message that the MSI could not be downloaded.
i used a web bookmark :
leave the ive right now,
when a user without a client connecting to the citrix, the citrix offers him a link to download and install the client ,
so i copied that link from the citrix and published it as a web bookmark directing directly to that file :-)
works like a charm.
Thank you, it is a simple workaround and it works perfect!!!
br, Thomas
we have also a case now and got the same answer
For download from the ive use the workaround however we have found anonther workaround.
The older .cab client works so now we enabled to use the older cab client.
There is still however an issue that remains is that the browser blocks the request because it uses a pop-up
this flashes verry quickly so that also needs to go into the manual
