network connect roaming

Hi all,

Is Network Connect able to resume it's connection seemlessly when you change media, for example, from wifi to 3g card or wired to wifi?

Can you also disable the NC user interaction/popup's completely so the end user does not notice the 'reconnecting phase'?

thanks,

Kind regards,

Maarten.

Re: network connect roaming

Yes, you can reconnect between different media types. There was an issue with reconnecting on PPP mode 3G/etc cards however, this was fixed in newer releases of code (6.3r6.1, 6.4r1, and 6.5r1) Also: A work around for that issue would be to change the connection mode from PPP to Ethernet.

Currently there is no way to disable the UI reconnecting dialog.

Re: network connect roaming

As long as in the role they get you're allowing roaming, yes. I know there's a option in there somewhere to decide whether or not the IVE will drop them if their IP address changes mid-session. I believe it's set to disconnect them by default.

thanks for your valuable comments.

It seems we need to upgrade to a recent version in order to get this to work properly

Maarten.

Re: network connect roaming

Tessian: That is correct. Roaming sessions is enabled via: (Users --> User Roles --> [role name] --> General --> Session Options).
