port bonding on SA6500

Hi,

We are implementing some new SA65000 concentrators and specifically port bonding (http://kb.pulsesecure.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB16338&cat=SSL_HTTPS&actp=LIST).

What protocol is used to perform the bonding?

The other side will be a CISCO, how should the 2 ports on the CISCO be configured, is standard ether channel configuration sufficient?

Is this documented in detail somewhere, the Secure Access Administration Guide doesnt go into much detail?

/Barney

Re: port bonding on SA6500

The bonding on SA6500 is simple interface bonding. Its always in Active/Backup mode (failover mode only) and only one port will be active at any given time. The corresponding switch ports require no specific config (from bonding perspective) . The failover trigger is link level failures (i.e.. Carrier state)

Re: port bonding on SA6500

Hi

Can internal port be connected to a different swtich so that when one switch fails, other switch can provide connectivity?

Or the internal ports must be connected tot he same switch?

Thanks,

They can be on different switches (different switches will provide greater redundancy so that would be better design than same switch)
