Re: publish ftp files - howto

This is what I have for HTML code.

<html>
<head>
<title>JFTP Applet</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
</head>
<!--
<body>
<applet code="net.sf.jftp.JFtpApplet"
codebase="<< CODEBASE >>"
archive="jftp.jar"
width="640" height="480"
name="JFTP" align="top">
<param name="code" value="net.sf.jftp.JFtpApplet">
<param name="codebase" value="<< CODEBASE >>">
<param name="archive" value="jftp.jar">
<param name="cabbase" value="">
<param name="name" value="JFTP">
<param name="width" value="640">
<param name="height" value="480">
<param name="align" value="top">
</applet>
</body>
</html>

Re: publish ftp files - howto

Hey Kendall - I did not spend much time with it - just got it up and running. In my test lab I am specifying the destination server. I would start with that.

Where did you specify the destination server? In the HTML code?

Re: publish ftp files - howto

Actually just tested it - forget about specifying the server in the code. You should not get a blank screen - you should get an applet load with the ability to specify the ftp server you want to hit.

Re: publish ftp files - howto

Did I need to upload anything other than the jftp.jar file?

Nope - that is all I uploaded - were you able to run it from a command line only? Just to test.

Re: publish ftp files - howto

Hi,

where can I specify the protocol (SFTP or FTP), the destination host and the directory?

The Applet should connect automatically and the user shouldn't be able to specify a protocol and host.

Of cause there are apropriate access policies in place as well. But if the user can't change protocol and host he can't make mistakes - at least at that point. ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Re: publish ftp files - howto

Hope this gives you what you are looking for:

param name="hostname" value="xxx"

param name="connectionType" value=" ftp, sftp, ftps, ftps-implicit, webdav"

param name="remoteDir" value="xxx"

Re: publish ftp files - howto

Sorry Kevin, the paramters you mention have no effect.

I use only one value for "ConnectionType" and real values for "hostname" and "remoteDir".

I still have to connect manually.

- Steffen

PS: If there are parameters for the destination. Is there also one to disable the connect to menue?
