Re: telnet on juniper sa 700

I didn't check to open the exported config using text editor before  , but as you noticed , it seems to be not text based , so you need to access the GUI to check the config for each specific category , even the console access is based on Menu and not command line  , so you can just configure interface IPs / change admin password , and other operational staff .

the only way to check , if through GUI.

Regards

Re: telnet on juniper sa 700

yes, that is correct: the binary .cfg files cannot be read except by the appliance.

if you want a human readable format, you will need to do XML export as red1 said.

the most efficient way to see the configuration is through the web admin interface.

when you refer to startup config, what do you mean?

Re: telnet on juniper sa 700

Dear

there is no telnet access to Juniper SA / MAG series products , the only way to manage them is through WebGUI (https protocol) , you can use console for first deployment and for  some operational tasks in case you lose WebGUI access.

Re: telnet on juniper sa 700

Dear

Did you try to export it in XML format ? using XML format will help to open and read config file using Notepad ++ which supports XML or using any other XML parsing tool,

Re: telnet on juniper sa 700

Hi thanks for the suggestion. i was able to open it in xml format and was able to see the configuration. much appreciated. its a pity that it does not have a telnet access.
