what is the DanaInfo bit of the URL

Hi,

I have an app which sends out a link to a page which is protected by the juniper portal, something like;

http://portal.server.com/rt/Ticket/,DanaInfo=.addorr57Gw13tLy2rq2+Display.html?id=31

What is the "DanaInfo" part of the URL, and does it ever change, or can I use that in general URLs for sending to other portal users?

Thanks,

Tom

Re: what is the DanaInfo bit of the URL

Usually you can just give the user the immediate link which will redirect you to the danainfo link.
For instance, lets say your like is secure.mycompany.com and the redirected link is secure.mycompany.com/danainfo/3/d3/d34/se/web.cgi. So basically is what I am saying why not just send the actual link and not worry about the redirected one.

Re: what is the DanaInfo bit of the URL

The link is showing as;
https://portal.mysite.net/rt/Ticket/,DanaInfo=.addorr57Gw13tLy2rq2+ModifyPeople.html

Would the direct link be
https://portal.mysite.net/rt/Ticket/ModifyPeople.html
?

Cos that just gives a ;
The page you requested (/rt/Ticket/ModifyPeople.html) could not be found.

error.

Re: what is the DanaInfo bit of the URL

The DanaInfo piece of the URL is where the rewriting is coming into play, typically the first piece is the hostname (in your case it is masked) and then there is path information that is spread out between right after your IVE name and then after the masked hostname.

With the masking enabled, it will change per server you connect to; however, I believe that it will mask identically for all users. If you send the link to other portal users, be sure that browser passthrough is enabled at Users>User Roles>Web>Options>View advanced options. This will take users to the sign-in page that they normally use and then, if access is granted, should take them to the page. There are some caveats to sending the rewritten URL to users as the login may affect their ability to see the page.

Re: what is the DanaInfo bit of the URL

Browser pass-through? Where? I went to USER>USER ROLES>(my role>WEB>OPTIONS>ADVANCED OPTIONS.

There is not "Browser pass-through" option. I see "Rewrite File:// URL's" and other options.

Am I looking in the correct place?

SA2000 and SA4000 (normal and FIPS), firmware 6.2R1.

Thanks

Joe

I guess he meant "browser request follow through" in the role's session options?!
