Local printing with Pulse Secure client

I work in help desk support for a large state agency that recently converted to Pulse Secure for its VPN. The last couple days have swamped us with issues but finally starting to get these ironed out. However I got stumped about 10 min ago. I have a user that is working from home. She is connected to her home wireless. She can print to her wireless printer when off the VPN but after she connects she can no longer print. I understand it has something to do with not having a split tunnel setup correctly but I can't find any settings or anything on the client that seem related. Can someone please point me in the right direction here?

Hi there. This is possible through a server-side configuration called "Tunnel routes with local subnet access". This was an option added in the 8.0 Pulse Connect Secure gateway (and 5.0 Pulse Secure desktop clients).

Then search for "local subnet access", you'll find the documentation.

You'll need to modify the server-side configuration, then have the clients reconnect to the Pulse Secure gateway to pick up the new configuration, then local printing should be possible.

I was hoping for something I could do on the client side since I'm a lowly help desk tech and have no access to the gateway (or even know anyone that does). I found something about adding a nic to the computer but thats not really feasible since its a laptop. I guess I could do something with a direct connection and wifi link at the same time but really that's out of scope for us and would be really hard to configure remotely.

Yeah, there's very little you can do on the client side, other than to "Suspend" your VPN connection temporarily when you need to print then "Resume" after you finish (there are menu functions on the system tray for suspending and resuming Pulse connections).

Indeed, the lack of options here is intentional in some regard, to the extent that your system administrator wants to prevent data leakage.

I think your best bet would be to figure out who your system administrator is and recommend that the admin make the change to allow Local Subnet Access.

Ok, I'm in a similar situation.

My IT enabled local subnet access for me and I was able to ping my local network and add wireless printer on Windows 7 and everything was good until I recently got a windows 10 computer, and when I connect with Pulse, (local subnet is enabled for my user if) I cannot ping local network or add any printer. When I ping local network (192.168.86.1) I see "General Failure" on command prompt. I compared routing table after vpn is connected on both computers and they seem pretty much the same. Can someone help me with what's different on windows phone 10?
