MacBook M1 "Securing Connection" issue

I am running the Desktop Client version 9.1.8 (the version provided by my university) on a MacBook M1 (macOS Big Sur 11.1) and am able to get the program to run and ask for my credentials but after they are typed in the program seems to get stuck while "Securing Connection". If I check on it in Activity Monitor it says the program is "Not Responding".  If I run in Safe Mode I get the error "Failed to connect to the Pulse Secure service."

 

Has anyone had this issue?

we have not seen that yet, specifically, but have seen other issues with testing
please open a case with our support team
