Re: Pulse 9.0.3 1667 - Authentication window is not displayed

Hi Team,

We are using the latest version of Pulse Desktop Client 9.1 and it is having the same issue. every time, we are asking end-user to go to Task Manager and maximize the authentication window to provide input.

Babu

@yesuveeranki Can you please involve Microsoft to look into this issue and see if they have any RCA/fix for this issue? Taking a procmon log should capture some info about the way how the application starts and how it behaves.

Re: Pulse 9.0.3 1667 - Authentication window is not displayed

Better solution is to fix registry keys for window position. To do this please:

  1. Close Pulse Secure Client window.
  2. Please find registry key
    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Pulse Secure\Saml
  3. You will see something like this:
    samlbottom = ‭4294935726‬ DEC
    samlleft = ‭4294935296‬ DEC
    samlright = ‭4294935730‬ DEC
    samltop = 4294935296‬ DEC
  4. Change following keys to these values:
    samlbottom = 1013 DEC
    samlleft = 100 DEC
    samlright = 1709 DEC
    samltop = 100 DEC
  5. Open Pulse Secure Client.

Re: Pulse 9.0.3 1667 - Authentication window is not displayed

Wow, thanks for this solution. I had this issue because I generally use my laptop with the dock and a multimonitor setup. When trying to log into Pulse using just the laptop without extended display, the window pops up off the screen. Since it's not a "normal" window, I cannot use the Win+Arrow command to move it back onto my screen.

Your suggestion allowed me to maximize it on my single screen and log in. For the Pulse team, please make the login pop-up a "normal" window, or please have the pop-up show up on the screen if there is only one screen available.

Re: Pulse 9.0.3 1667 - Authentication window is not displayed

I'm having this issue as well with a colleague on 902 - The connect (via Okta) window pops up into the Application Switcher, but when you click it, nothing happens. Going into Task Manager and choosing Switch To or Bring to Front does nothing. Yet, the auth window still exists in the application switcher, on the icon for Pulse Secure, and in the desktop spaces icon next to Cortana search. It just never shows when clicked.

They noted that they usually have a second monitor plugged in, so I'm assuming that, even though Windows doesn't detect a second display, it's 'displaying' it on the second monitor.

Reformatting is not an option at this time. Any suggestions? Thanks!

@SingleLukeReflex Registry setting change that was posted above should resolve this issue that you're describing. Did you try that?

Re: Pulse 9.0.3 1667 - Authentication window is not displayed

This did it for me!  I clicked "maximize" and BOOM it showed up (bring to front did not work).

2 hrs of killed time trying to fix this with my IT dept.  Found this solution and I was in business!

Thx!!

Open task manager, go to process tab, find the Pulse Secure tray process where you will find the authentication window child process.

Right click and choose bring it to front or maximize and see if that brings the window.

This did it!  2 hrs with IT and one search in Google for this and I'm back in business!

Thx!!

Clicking maximize fixed made the connection show up, I just resized it and it was perfect.  Clicking bring to front did not resolve it.  I suspect somehow it was off the page hiding. Maximizing centered it and used full screen.

Thanks Again!!
