Pulse secure client is a new L3 VPN client which cross platform capabilities and has forward/backward compatibility.Pulse secure client can also be used a WSAM client and also host checker components are also in-built in it.
Network connect is a legacy client and is not supported on MAC OSX 10.9 or above .It doesn't support forward/backward compatibility.
