Pulse client hides wifi signal strength indicator when connected

So when I get connected to the VPN using the version of the Pulse app from the Windblows Store my wifi signal strength indicator is replaced by the icon this rotten sorry excuse for an OS uses for Ethernet connection (which inexplicably looks like a monitor with some junk on the left side).

This is wrong behavior. When I'm in certain locations with lots of possible signal interference (such as one of our datacenters) it's imperative that I know where the signal strength is greatest so I don't get dropouts.

Please do what all Linux distros do: preserve the signal strength icon but add a little padlock to the corner of it to indicate the VPN is connected.
