Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

The VPN is stuck at securing connection. The network adapter not listed. Only the adapter manager is listed. Tried repair & reinstall the VPN software. No change. No other VPN software installed. Disabled Windows defender AV & firewall, no change.  Cisco IP communicator not installed. Version 5.1.10 (5655). Windows 10 Enterprise Version 1909 OS build 18363.1556. Looks like the adapter installation failed. Logs below

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

No. This is a laptop provided by my office & I am working from home. The latest version is not yet approved for deployment by the IT dept. So cannot install it. The IT guys tried to help but no solution yet. They are saying to reinstall  the OS which is a pain. Takes quite a bit of effort to bring back to the original state what with so much data & software to restore.

Tried if the latest Windows updates would help. No success

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

Tried the latest version 9.1.11 (8575). Same issue, no change. Driver installation logs seems to be fine. No errors reported. But the Virtual Adapter is still missing in the network adapter list.

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

The version number mentioned in my very first post is wrong. It should be 9.1.10 (5655)

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

After searching thru the events, the following event is recorded.

The connection <ID> encountered an error: Network error Peer address: <ID>

The peer address ID is blank. Not sure what it signifies. Somebody please help !!!

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

@amhBlore Connection stuck at "Securing connection" will happen if the tunnel manager is not able to bring up the virtual adapter.

Can you please check if the following service status by executing the below command:

sc query jnprvamgr

sc query jnprns

sc query jnprva

# What AV is installed?

# Do you see the jnprva.sys file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers?

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

Hi,

Were you able to get this solved?
I'm stuck in a similar position.

Any response would be appreciated.

Re: Pulse secure juniper networks virtual adapter missing

@amhBlore

Have you ever been able to figure out a solution for this?  We're having the same issue with various endpoints in our enterprise (doesn't matter what version of the Client, 9.1R12, 9.1R15, ISAC 22.2R1.0, etc). Just happened out of the blue, suddenly the Juniper Networks Virtual Adapter just disappeared from Device Manager, and users started getting stuck at "Securing connection" since the the Juniper Networks Virtual Adapter Manager can no longer bring up the actual Juniper Networks Virtual Adapter to establish the tunnel.
