iOS 11.3 and above, Pulse mobile shows “Connecting Error – The server is not responding” message

https://kb.pulsesecure.net/articles/Pulse_Secure_Article/KB43733/ has been published which covers an issue with Pulse mobile on iOS11.3 and above where if Pulse is backgrounded during authentication then it fails to connect with the message “Connecting Error – The server is not responding”.  This is usually triggered by MFA/2FA where another application needs to be in the foreground while the authentication is in progress.  Please read and follow the KB for more information.

This article provides information on how to configure the PCS device for Radius authentication with One Time Password (OTP).

This setup uses Radius for authentication between the PCS device and OTP server.
The backend server uses LDAP as the credential database.
This example is based on the McAfee OTP server.
