ActiveX on user's authentication page

Hi everybody

I'm trying a MAG 2600 with UAC firmware (Enterprise Guest Access) and all works fine, as expected.

When the system shows the web authentication page invite to download an ActiveX. If you answer NO all works fine.

What is the goal of this ActiveX?. Is it possible to remove this Active X download process?

I will appreciate any additional information.

Thanks a lot of.

Re: ActiveX on user's authentication page

For basic GUAM functions we need a client that is why Activex and JAVA is enabled bydefault.

The function of Activex is to download Juniper setup client packages.

Re: ActiveX on user's authentication page

Hi Raveen

Thanks for your answer. Is it possible to avoid the attempt of ActiveX downloading? I think that in a guest access scenario the user could be confused with the ActiveX process and he do not need to download any client packages?

Thanks

Re: ActiveX on user's authentication page

Hi

It may not be possibel to have Activex disabled in MAG 2600.

When you say 'NO' to Activex, authentication still works, becuase we fallback to Java to install client packages.

In short, ACTIVEX and JAVA are the mechansm that we use to install client packages in endpoint machines.

Without which we can know the activity of endpoint machines.

Re: ActiveX on user's authentication page

Hi Raveen

Thanks again for your detailed answer.

I understand the ActiveX role, but I think that for a guest user that he doesn't need to download JunosPulse, OAC or Host Checker clients and probably he will be confused when an unknown web service try to install an ActiveX in his computer.
