I'm trying to make a purchasing decision on switches and need to know what impact the use of Cisco switches (WS-C2960X-48FPS-L) at the access layer will have with Policy Secure vs Juniper switches. We currently have Juniper firewalls and Juniper routers. My understanding is that the Juniper EX series switches make better enforcement points when used with Policy Secure but what specific features are enabled with Juniper and not Cisco?
Solved! Go to Solution.
That used to be true with regard to EX switches, but more recent releases of JUNOS on the EX has dropped the integration between it and Pulse Policy Secure. So as far as PPS is concerned, the Juniepr EX is just another L2 switch. Base your decsion on your current environment and needs. If Juniper meets your needs, go with that. Otherwise, you never get fired for buying Cisco.
Hope that answers your question.
Thanks
