A question about OAC client sw-distribution.
while installing, the client drops all the active connections on the endpoint:
the customer asks me if this fact can impact on the sw-distribution via Microsoft SMS
solution, since junst the SMS connection can be dropped. I've no knowledge of SMS;
could you give me some informations about you experience with OAC sw-distribution?
thanks a lot,
best regards
Solved! Go to Solution.
It has been my experience that folks have used many different package mgmt systems to distribute OAC. SMS, Zenworks, Patchlink, etc, and in each case they were abll able to distribute the files correctly. It must be configurable in SMS to have the msi pushed to the workstation before trying to run the msi.
So as I don't know how to do it, I have seen and heard it done many times.

thanks a lot for your reply...
I'll try to deliver the .msi OAC installation packet by SMS and I'll inform you about the result.

One more thing to add here, I think you have to know those parameters to be used with the installation file, in order to have silent installion.
As you know, when you install some software, it will keep asking you for some parameters or at least wait for you to red their EULA and press next. So you have to give it some parameters in order to have silent installation and skip those questions.
Actually, OAC's Odyssey Client Adminitrator has the ability to create a customer installer. One of the settings you can configure when creating a customer installer is a silent install.
enjoy!
