Disk partitions

Hi all

Is there a guide which describes the working with the system- and log partition? How can I extend and/or modify the size, within a VMWare virtual environment?

Instead to manually free up disk space during each update and have failed updates due to a full partition, I rather want to extend it.

Thank you

Markus

Re: Disk partitions

Hi Markus,

Previously I have - with success - used gparted live to extend the /-partition after I have extended the disk in VMware.

Practice on a clone first.

Best regards

Re: Disk partitions

Markus,

Riverbed SteelApp (see product renaming details here) Product Management is currently tracking this issue - we are working on a product update to alleviate disk space issues on the SteelApp Traffic Manager Virtual Appliances in a future release.  If you need more details, please contact your Riverbed Sales Representative to arrange for details to be provided under NDA. (if you need help identifying your Sales Representative, please message me directly and I can help you track them down..)

In the interim, Riverbed Support can provide details of methods that can be used to free up space on your existing SteelApp Traffic Manager Virtual Appliance.  See the Riverbed Support page for details of how to raise a support case.

Cheers.

Aidan.

Re: Disk partitions

Hi Aidan

This sounds good. I will contact our sales rep for this. As you suggested, I already opened a support case (case number 560938) to see which way we can go. Of course, the article which describes how and what to delete before the upgrade I followed, but for me this is a workaround and not the final solution. Therefore I would like to add at least five more gig of disk space to this partition.

Thank you

Markus
