Traffic Manager's SOAP Control API is a standards-conformant SOAP-based API that makes it possible for other applications to query and modify the configuration of a Traffic Manager cluster. For example, a network monitoring or intrusion detection system may reconfigure Traffic Manager's traffic management rules as a result of abnormal network traffic; a server provisioning system could reconfigure Traffic Manager when new servers came online.
The SOAP Control API can be used by any programming language and application environment that supports SOAP services.
