Re: Is Stingray Traffic Manager any plan to support google's SPDY protocols?

Hi,

As you, I was wondering about a status for SPDY integration in Stingray.

Here is the anwser I was able to get from Riverbed staff :

----

We have looked in depth at SPDY, but currently do not have any plans to incorporate it into Stingray Traffic Manager.  Instead, we are looking at ways to use the Aptimizer WCO (Web Content Optimization) technology to improve the delivery of web content from Stingray Traffic Manager.

We believe that an Aptimizer-derived solution will perform significantly better than a SPDY solution with respect to improving page load times and customer experience.  Aptimizer seeks to achieve the same performance goals as SPDY, but puts less load on the back-end servers, is compatible with all major browsers, and significantly reduces the number of TCP round trips, page size and browser rendering time.

----

I hope this will help.

Regards,

Yannick

Is there an update to this? SPDY 3.1 is now available with nginx 1.6.0 which we use to terminate our SSL before we load balance.

Rackspace who are our hosting provider now support public IP/SSL termination using your LB product so we could remove the first nginx server, but at the down side of removing SPDY support.
