Kernel Modules for IP Transparency Module running at Appliance version

Hello,

I am testing with  Stingray-VA appliance version now.   Recently I checking the IP Transparency with URL

Tuning Stingray Traffic Manager

I want to check is it appliance version already included or I need to install the modules patch like above URL.

When I try to load install the modules.  It shown the following error

------------------------------------------------------

# ./install_modules.pl

Checking system...ok

Checking build environment...

Unable to find the command 'make' in your PATH.  Please adjust your PATH or

install 'make' and try again.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Any idea about it?

Thanks!

Re: Kernel Modules for IP Transparency Module running at Appliance version

Hi Machi Ma,

It is not necessary for you to install the Stingray kernel modules manually. The Virtual Appliance ships with both the IP Transparancy and multhosted TIP modules installed. You just need to enable the feature on the pool, and the VA will load and use the module automatically.

The service unavailable message is probably being show because the server is not routing the return traffic back through STM. When using IP Transparency the STM must be default gateway of the servers. Or at least be the default gateway for the server to reach client networks. If you are testing this with the client and server on the same network, then it almost certainly wont work.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: Kernel Modules for IP Transparency Module running at Appliance version

Hello Mark,

Thanks for your suggestion.

I could found how to enable IP transparency but where I can enable multihosted TIP modules?

Finally got work and with IP Transparency when setup those servers default to STM.  And remember to enable ip_forward for allow those servers which can access Internet via STM
