No network tab in admin page

Hi there, I'm using developer edition Stingray to investigate a proof of concept, however the networking tab does not appear in admin system settings as the manual states it should.  Is this a limitation of the developer edition?

What I am trying to investigate is whether we can add several VLAN's to an interface and use traffic IP groups that are on those VLANs.

Thanks

Re: No network tab in admin page

Hi honeymonster,

Are you using a software version? The Networking and NTP tabs only appear on the Virtual Appliance. If you install software then Stingray will not attempt to manage the OS network configuration.

Regardless of whether you are using software or VA, you should find that TrafficIP Groups work fine with VLAN tagging. With software though, you will need to configure the VLANs using the tools bundled with your Linux distribution. Once the VLANs are configured Traffic IPs and Traffic IP Networks can be configured to use those interfaces.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: No network tab in admin page

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply.  I spoke to support earlier who confirmed what you have just said:  Yes we are running the software version which is why it isn't present.

I have since added the VLAN subinterfaces at the OS level and the Stingray device is correctly assigning the traffic IP's to the relevant VLAN.  Works like a dream!

Thanks
