Take down VIP port when the servers in pool goes down

How to make sure the VIP port doesnt respond when the all the servers in the pool behind the VIP goes down.  Basically we are monitoring this VIP for an inter data centre failover, but in this case the VIP port still responds to Azure traffic manager probes and never fails.

I have configured adc in cluster mode and we are not using traffic groups. VIPs listen on the Traffic Manager IP address port 443. Any thoughts on this will be much appreciated.

Re: Take down VIP port when the servers in pool goes down

Shobithk,

Since you are not using traffic groups in your configuration, you are expected to accept all ports from the TIP/VIP port (ie HTTP/HTTPS and etc.). In your case, I suggest configuring the traffic as Virtual Server with port 443.  In this case, the TIP port will not terminate unless the back-end health monitor fails on port 443. Hence, the Azure probes will continue to respond. I tried my best to understand the question. Otherwise, if you want further clarification, schedule a time with your regional SE and I will join with the discussion.
