Brocade Virtual Traffic Manager 17.2 released

In this new release, Brocade Virtual Traffic Manager includes an upgraded Virtual Appliance platform, and has been designated as an LTS (Long Term Support) release. Main highlights include:

• Virtual Appliance: The Brocade vTM Virtual Appliance edition has been upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, with a base kernel of 4.4.0. With this upgrade, the Virtual Appliance now supports the systemd boot initialization system, and changes to a predictable naming convention for network interfaces.
  
  
• Brocade vWAF: This release can restrict the TLS version used for access to the Brocade vWAF administration console and REST API configuration: permitted options include TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2.
   
• Long-Term Support release: For customers who prefer longer support cycles to support their operational model, Brocade is identifying Brocade vTM 17.2 as an LTS (Long Term Support) release. As a result, support for Brocade vTM 17.2 will be available for three years after the release date.
  
  

Version Numbering:

Since January 2017, Brocade software products use the version number convention “YY.n”, where YY is the year of release and n is the sequential release for that year. This release of the Brocade Virtual Traffic Manager is designated "17.2" - following directly from the previous Traffic Manager release, which was designated "17.1"
