Hi All, I am struggling to find info regarding Lync 2010/ 2013 and what will or will not work. We basically have 3 sets of users:- The business users who get onto the network using NC The business users who get onto the network using Pulse The non-business users who get webmail (OWA 2010) through bookmarks (and this is therefore written through the IVE) We are in the process of enabling Lync through OWA and I need to know if it will work for all of the above users? There is also the question of whether this will all work when we upgrade to Lync 2013 in 6 months. I'm hoping someone can tell me definitively what will and will not work, and if there are work-arounds? Thanks Natasha

Hi All, Just installed my shiny new MAG6611 device and was about to upgrade to 8.0R2 when I noticed this message 'JTAC Recommended release for this product is: 7.4R8.0' Can anyone advise if there's an issue with applying 8.0R2? Is there an upgrade path from the factory defaul 7.1 to either of thsoe versions? Thanks Natasha

Hi Michael, I can only speak from experience, but we found specifically with our Sharepoint Wiki site, that we had to remove the toolbar, in order to see the drop down boxes with icons (user role x -> UI Options ->browsing toolbar -> Untick 'Show the browsing toolbar') Hope it helps. Natasha

Hi Guys, We have a requirement to make host checker see if a computer object has been disabled on AD, and therefore should not be allowed to sign in to VPN. Hi, I've just installed the SA6500 DTE 7.4R1 in my lab, and I was wondering if there is a way to test clustering on there? There doesn't appear to be a tab for adding in a cluster license. Is this a restriction of DTE? Thanks Natasha

Hi, we are running SA6000 with 7.1R11 software. When our users connect and network connect starts up, they are given an internal ip address in the range of 10.7.x.x. Our network team has just alerted me that the Cisco firewall is claiming laptops within that IP range are spoof addresses. Does Juniper have a log, like DHCP, where it tells you which machine/ user id is given which IP address from the above range? Thanks Natasha

Hi Guys, Ok the issue turned out not to be Juniper, but the lcoal machine. I am posting the fix here in case anyone else has this problem, and needs to rule out Juniper as the culprit. From the users local machine, Navigate to "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect" There should be 1 or 2 folders in there, rename it, but make sure you can change it back if necessary. Open Outlook, it will create an identical folder to the one you just renamed, it will ask for your password as usual, enter your password. After that, it stops prompting, evena fter you disconnect and reconnect from Juniper. Hope this helps someone. Thanks Natasha

Hi Guys, We have recently upgraded our users to Windows 7 x64 with Outlook 2010 32-bit. When users sign in to the VPN, and host checker has run successfully, they are able to use email. However after a few minutes they are prompted for outlook authentication. They enter their AD username and password and it works for a while, then about 15 mins later they are prompted for credentials again. This is only happening with Outlook as far as I know; their connection to applications/ intranet is fine. Can you please suggest some troubleshooting for me? Thanks Natasha

Hi, my users have this issue too. Sometimes they are running network connect, other times they are logging in from home machines with no domain affiliation. They get 'invalid login' in IE, then their accounts get locked after 3 times (standard AD password policy), then they claim that the helpdesk unlocks their account, they remove all installed Juniper products like host checker, and they are able to login fine... I didnt think there were any locally cached AD passwords within users personal machines?? Natasha

Hi, thank you for the responses. I logged the issue with JTAC and they said that its not possible to allow access to a range of IP's, only specific IP's or servers. Since I have over 500 devices, I put in *.*:* and that has given the third party Putty access. Its a little insecure, but it works for now. Many thanks again for your help. Natasha

Hi, Thank you for the reply. I have checked the above and I can confirm I have them configured. After running a policy trace, it came back with 'No Auto Allow resources configured'. I would have thought that the 10.0.0.0 access would have allowed for anything within that range? It really is a strange one. I might log it with JTAC and see if they have any answers. Hi Guys, I am trying to allow Putty access through WSAM to my network switch range for a third party. While it allows the Putty connection if I add in a specific IP address (example 10.1.2.3), if I change the resource profile WSAM destination to 10.0.0.0 or to 10.0.0.0/8, it doesn't allow any Putty connection. Hi, many thanks for your mail. I have applied the filter and it works, but only on one URL at a time. Let me explain: I have added 2 URL's: http://wiki.lr.org:*/*, http://intranet.lr.org:*/* When I click on the intranet bookmark, there is no browsing toolbar, but when I click on the wiki bookmark, the browsing toolbar is back. However, if I remove the intranet URL, then go to the wiki bookmark, the browsing toolbar is gone. Do you have any idea why the filter is behaving that way? It's no problem if we can do only the one URL at this point, but I'm just interested to know why it wouldn't apply the filter to any URL added? Hi there, IÕm hoping someone can help. WeÕve discovered that some web apps published through pass through proxy are removing the vertical scroll bars that let you scroll up and down the page. JTAC fixed this issue by telling us to remove the floating browsing toolbar (found under Roles, UI Options, Browsing Toolbar, un-tick Show Browsing Toolbar) that takes you back to the home page, as all our web apps open in new windows, so we donÕt really need it. However, this may not be acceptable to the business so I was wondering if thereÕs a way to create a role or policy that applies the browsing toolbar to the main home page, but knows that when a web app is launched from a bookmark, that it does not apply the toolbar to that new open window? As far as I can tell from my testing, it is not possible, but IÕm hoping someone else might have an idea of what we can try. Many thanks Natasha

Hi there, We are trying to restore the user realms, user roles, resource policies and resource profiles from our live SA6000 cluster to our lab SA2000 cluster. Can anyone porvide advice if the easiest way to do this is to export those sections we require using Import/Export XML? Or is it easier to export the configuration to a system.cfg binary file and import using the 'import everything except network settings and licenses' option? With either of those methods, does it merge the settings, keeping the existing policies? Or does it overwrite them completely? Ideally we dont want to maintain any of the existing policies on the lab boxes. Thanks

Hi, we had exactly the same issue 2 weeks ago when our Primary auth server was in a hung state and was therefore still accepting the requests. We also found no fix on the IVE for this, and instead had to fix it from the auth server side. Thanks Natasha

Hi Casey, We had this issue as well when we rolled out Win 7. In my environment it did indeed turn out to be a Win 7 issue, and not a VPN issue. The users were not synchronising fully when they came in or left the office. We had to change the Win 7 settings to force a sync after log on and before log off. This resolved the issue for them. Hi there, We are looking to migrate from SA6000 to MAG6611, but do not want to take across old unused user roles/ profiles. We have over 100 so manually sifting through them would take forever. If download.juniper.net keeps the virus definitions up to date, and it has not successfully connected for the last 3 months, then how are my users able to pass hostchecker and login to the VPN to work as normal?
