Hello Kita, Can you clarify what you mean by "we are actively fix issues"? Does this mean VMware HTML Web Access is supported today? If so, which specific versions? If not, can you please provide a matrix on what is supported (and what not supported) and then an estimated time or version that will support this feature. Juniper/PulseSecure has not been very good on communicating support for VMware Horizon and related features. Thank you.

8.1R1 did not work for us. I'm not sure about 8.1R2. But we're running VMware Horizon 6.0 which I was told wouldn't be supported until later this year, including support for HTML Access. Supposedly 8.1R1 supports View 5.3 but I haven't been able to confirm this. Unfortunately it appears Juniper/PulseSecure doesn't have this very high on their list. We've basically given up and are looking into other products/solutions. The official answer is that Juniper doesn't currently support VMware HTML Access using View 5.3 and Horizon 6.0. Support is expected with JunosPulse 8.1 which is tentatively scheduled to be released this month (originally expected to be released in Q3 of this year). We'll see if Juniper releases as stated or pushes back the release date yet again.

As an update: I just tried accessing but can't connect to a virtual desktop using HTML Blast. We recently upgraded to Horizon View 5.3 and Juniper SA 8.0R3.1. It won't even connect this time--just states "Desktop Disconnected: Your desktop has been disconnected. Attempting to reconnect to desktop..." immediately after click on the the desktop pool. And I can connect fine internally. Not sure...guess I'll have to open another case with JTAC. Anyone else having success with this? If so, which versions are you using? EDIT: Wanted to also mention I've tried on a few different browsers without success.

Mizuho, We don't have the HTTP(S) Secure Tunnel and Blast Secure Gateway on our Connection Servers enabled so I can't confirm if this is supported or not. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but port 8443 would be for the Blast Secure Gateway. When I initially set this up, I just created a simple Web bookmark to the Connection Server. I believe I also added this to our Web ACL policy. That was pretty much it and it worked although we had the disconnect issue which has since been resolved by the web rewrite filter mentioned in the posted KB article. Perhaps you can try to disable the Secure Tunnel and Blast Secure Gateway on a CS to see if that works? What versions are you running? VMware Horizon View? Juniper SA?

Just following up to this post: I logged a call with JTAC. After being escalated to Engineering, they provided a custom web rewriting filter which resolved the issues I was having with disconnects. It is now working without issue. It also seems that performance has been increased a bit as well using the filter. All of our non-Windows users are going to be incredibly happy! :) Hopefully Juniper will incorporate this into a future update, but if not, feel free to reference case #2013-0904-0643.

I was curious if anyone has been successful accessing a virtual desktop pool directly using VMware HTML Access (HTML5 using BLAST protocol) using the Juniper SSL VPN. I've been able to setup a web bookmark to our Connection Server, been able to authenticate, and been able to connect to a desktop. This is without Network Connect or Pulse running. It's strictly HTML traffic being sent back and forth. That being said, I'm having some connectivity issues (multiple disconnects and attempts to reconnect) and also some performance issues. Not having these issues internally. I'm wondering how performance should be since it's using the rewrite engine. Anyone else have experience or some information on if and how this should be configured? FYI we're on 7.4R3, Horizon View 5.2 w/ Feature Pack 2 Thanks, Ryan

I too am having this issue. We are running 6.4R1. Some of the client devices I've installed the latest RDP client software from Microsoft but that doesn't help. If I connect using RDP (mstsc.exe) it works ok but only when I uncheck "Reconnect if connection is dropped" under the experience tab. If that option is selected it will produce the same issue using dsTermServ.exe from Juniper. I'm guessing this is a bug in the Juniper Windows Terminal Services client? Has anyone had any success figuring this out?

Regarding the original post, I would still be interested in knowing if there is some way to allow Hosted Java Applets to be applied per user profile and not just as a resource profile that is a global setting.

Has anyone had any success configuring jrdesktop (similar to ProperJavaRDP) to allow remote users to connect via RDP to hosts from non-Windows operating systems (e.g., Mac OSX, Linux)? I have ProperJavaRDP setup and working but am curious to see if jrdesktop has more/better functionality for our end users. Specifically, I would like the option for our end users to specify which host session they would like to connect. With ProperJavaRDP this is all hard-coded and set as a global resource profile. I downloaded the .jar file from jrdesktop.sourceforge.net, then uploaded that file to our SA4000 SSL VPN under Java Hosted Applets (did NOT specify to uncompress files since it is only one file, not in a compressed zip package). When configuring under the TS resource profile, the HTML section states a few instances to replace text __PLEASE SPECIFY__. I'm unsure which class file to reference (tried jrdesktop.main.class along with a few others). Thanks in advance, Ryan

I don't mean to threadcap but I was wondering if there has been any progress made on setting up ProperJavaRDP for individual profiles (instead of using a global resource profile). We are also trying to set this up to allow users to customize their own host sessions. Also, I did download and install jrdesktop as a hosted java app but am unable to configure it. There are some settings in the HTML field that have __PLEASE SPECIFY__ (ProperJaveRDP has the .class file listed here). I'm not exactly sure which .class file to put for jrdesktop. If I need to create a new post let me know and I'll do so. Thanks
