If the concern on the upgrade is admin rights, you _may_ be ok for Host Checker as it does not require elevated privileges for installation. if you have a lab system (physical or DTE virtual appliance), you can test it there to see if it looks like you may be able to do it. but if the goal is to have nothing upgrade, unfortunately, that will not be possible. :( ...
