As far as I know the Virtual Appliance is full featured and if configured correctly it will do everything a hardware based SA appliance can do from a feature standpoint.

You should not be attempting to do anything using AcmeGizmo. As Ken said it is for resellers to use for demonstrations of SSL-VPN for sales purposes. You want to consider Junos Pulse just like Network Connect - it is another way to get VPN connectivity to your network through the SSL box. So you you need to use / define all the standard SSL "stuff" - auth server, realm, role, etc. When you configure a role and you select Network Connect (NC) you now can choose between NC and Pulse as your connection client.
