Working through plans to upgrade from R7.1 to R7.3. Right now my users are on Network Connect but I'm thinking if I have to put them through the pain of upgrading NC I might as well look into just moving them to Pulse. What's everyone's experience been with Pulse compared to NC?

Not much to go on but from the message and the fact that it works if the user trys again I'd suspect a timing issue, maybe a dns resolution timeout issue.

Thanks! Trying the non-Java ICA with CTS client worked and resolved my original issue. But I have some users that will will using OSX. Is there a way I can determine on my own if the Java ICA client is installed on the Citrix server? I'm working/testing with a different group, so tracking down and getting an answer from the citrix group may be a time suck.

I've got a resource profile type of citrix web interface/JICA Using Java ICA Client with Web Interface(NFuse) Nfuse 5.2 and above For the metaframe servers I have the entire /16 network set For Web Access Control I have the entire /16 set using the /16 to eliminate the problem being a rights issue. Does that answer your question/make sense?

I'm trying to get a xenapp setup to work, I get the citrix login and the applications page but when I try to start an application it always tells me "Cannot connect to the Citrix XenApp server. There is no Citrix Xenapp server configured on the specified address". To me it appears the Citrix piece on the PC is trying to connect outside of the portal so it's not using that 'tunnel'. If I use SAM it works. Thanks all.

Thanks. No I'm wondering about the access to the app. Example user trying to get to owa that isn't Internet accessible User clicks the owa.company.com bookmark Pulse sees the DNS request for owa.company.com that fails over Internet Pulse client starts -requests userID and password -correct? Authentication success and URL opens. -delay/timeout waiting for authentication? User types OWA id/password or SSO would kick in? Or am I completely misunderstanding how VPN on Demand works? Also, thanks for the time everyone.

I'm curious about this feature on Pulse and SA hardware. It sounds like the user could have a link or app pointing to an internal URL and the client will see the connection, start, and request loginID and password. Once the user is successfully logged in they'll be passed to the app. Anyone using this? Anyone found any good documentation on use and setup? Does it have to be a URL or can it be an IP? PC,Mac iOS, Android support? Thanks all.

I have some users that need to implement a cisco voip for remote workers. Pulse and NC client show the same MAC for the users so they can't register their phones correctly. Anyone have this working? Any hints or tips?

I'd like to map a department drive and if possible a user drive over Network Connect. If found several threads but no answers. In testing I got NC to kick off a .bat file on my c:\ that uses a net use command but it prompts for username and password. Is there a way to do this so the user doesn't have to pass creds? I'm using NPS/RADIUS for authentication and authorization. Also looking at my policy trace variables I see domain\userid listed for both <user> and <username>. I thought <user> gave domain\userid and <username> gave just userid have a complicated multiple forest/domain setup so I can't use AD or LDAP. Thanks for any info.

Sorry let me rephrase. Users can change their passwords but don't get any password message or notification or prompt that their password has or is going to expire. On the day their password expires if they login they won't get prompted for a new password. Correct?

It's my understanding that in order for IVE to handle password expiration you have to query AD as an LDAP authentication source because the samba (regular AD authentication source) doesn't support password expiration. Is that correct? Also, NPS won't handle password expiration either correct? Does anyone have any good docs/how-tos on how to setup IVE and AD to support password managment? I've seen conflicting information on in-house and public certs, where there installed (IVE or AD), etc. So if anyone has a step-by-step that would be a huge help. Thanks for the time.

Yes multi-domain environment. Users are scattered across multiple domains, groups used to map rolls are in one container. But the rolls/groups would have members from users from the various domains.

Thanks all for the feedback. My setup has my vpn groups in one domain but my users are from various domains. I had Trust and everything checked and could authenticate but could not get groups to be read. Policy trace is a great tool but I finally used the tcpdump tool and saw that the VPN was doing a DNS query on the domain with the wrong domain name. corp.companyname.com instead of corp.internal.companyname.com. I added internal.companyname.com to my domain name list and everything started working.

I'm seeing "GetUserGroups Finding user sid of user failed. user 'JSMith' does not exist I can authenticate fine, it just doesn't see any groups attached to my userID. What's the computer object used for?

First off I'm an LDAP and network guy don't know much about AD. Working with our AD admin to authenticate/authorize(AD Groups) off our enterprise AD with multiple domains. AD admin are concerned about this domain admin and the rights requirements. And it talking about computer accounts and creating writing computer objects? Can someone breakdown for me and my AD admin what is really needed and what this account is doing? Also any tips for multi-domain AD authentcation, right now I can't get the VPN to see the users groups. working with VPN 7.1, AD 2008 and right now a full domain admin with no restrictions. Appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

I want to allow users to certain IPs and any ports to those IPs. Is there any way to do something like a global allow policy for the realm or role? Right now it seems like I have to setup something in each tab option -web, sam, nc, pulse,etc. Using AD with Groups if that matters. Thanks.
