Pulse hung on waiting to connect

Hi, pulse is hung on 'waiting to connect'. Sometimes it will quickly jump to 'connecting' just to immediately go back to waiting. This is my first time attempting to connect as I just downloaded the software yesterday. I'm not sure what to do outside of restarting the computer (which I've already done). Suggestions? ...
