If you ever have to use Switch User, Pulse Secure drops the VPN connection, but Network Connect does not, so you can switch to a different user. Perhaps someone can let me know of a setting where Pulse Secure will not drop the VPN connection. We've also found that Network Connect more reliably and clearly lets you know if your RSA token needs syncronization. Pulse Secure may not try to synchronize, or if it does, any message you get may be unclear, just asking for the password (RSA passcode) again.

Our users do not have admin privs and we have found that Pulse Secure does not maintain a VPN connection when switch user is used, but Network Connect does maintain the VPN connection. We don't normally have to switch user as admin elevation works for most things (Win 10 Pro), but not for appwiz.cpl (programs and features).

Our users run as non-admins. It saves a lot of time administering the laptops and helps protect the user when they accidentally click on a link and malware gets loaded - but often only partially because without admin priv the malware never completely installs. It also prevent users from installing gaming and other non-corporate software. However, there are times when I connect to the user's laptop and have to sign in to the admin account to get the work done. (User logins can't use appwiz.cpl and perform other maintenance functions even when started from an admin command prompt.) But we can't help the user when connected via Pulse Secure as it drops the connection on switch user. Unfortunately, corporate prefers we use Pulse Secure. Our work-around is to also have NetWork Connect VPN client installed and we talk the user through connecting to VPN with that and it lets us switch accounts without dropping VPN... as long as no active user signs out of their Windows account.

Yes, that redirected URL is the one. Here is what I see in Chrome that IE11 doesn't show: I don't know if that image got inserted or not and there doesn't seem to be a preview button. Instead of an image I just see some text. At least the text cannot be edited so maybe posting will insert the image.

The "Reply" button now shows up in IE, but not the thumbs up inside the box on the lower left (next to the kudos count). Also, in your post informing me of the new URL (site) the old URL redirects to Chrome shows a chain/link that IE doesn't show. Hovering over the link says "Contains a hyperlink". (Clicking on it does nothing in Chrome.) The chain/link shows up under the post's title before the sentence " Thanks - Can you confirm the URL you are looking at? " Basically, in IE11 it is still a problem.

I am trying to reply to a conversation but the icons for reply and other actions are not shown in IE11 (edge) with Windows 7 Pro. I viewed in Chrome and I can see the icons. In IE11 I can hover where the icons should be and the pointer arrow will change to the pointer finger and minor pop-up will display the function so the items are there. IE7-10 do not show the icons either. I've seen this before with IE11 on other sites and if I add the web site to Trusted sites the icons show up. (Using the Reply button doesn't work well for IE11 or for Chrome - it's kind of overlaid on the same page making it hard to use.) Consider adding a valid HTML5 doctype: ""[/i]. (Obviously as a visitor to the site I cannot change the site's code so that's not a viable solution for me - on my own that is.) I've seen that "solution" on another web site but they address a different JSON control/line of code. I've also seen a solution involving adding a key to the registry: [url]https://www.codeproject.com/Tips/216175/View-JSON-in-Internet-Explorer The key is: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/json] "CLSID"="{25336920-03F9-11cf-8FD0-00AA00686F13}" "Encoding"=hex:08,00,00,00[/url] Can anyone suggest a solution other than trusted sites or changing the registry? There was so much constantly accumulating stuff in the event log I could make any sense of it. Apparently corporate published/posted the update and once I accepted the update, PS moved to v12 (and still is at v12) and the problem no longer occurs but I think it's because corporate has since removed the update. What do you mean by "connecting to the same role"? What is a role?

The message gives a choice to click 'here' to continue. Clicking here tries to run a Java applet which takes a minute or more to complete and it might have something to do with updating. (The NC version doesn't change, staying at 8.1.12.56235.) The next time I connect with NC I have to go through the same process. The updater is installed. If I use Pulse Secure 5.1.8 (61601) to connect I got a message to upgrade, which it did as now the version is 5.1.12 (61915) and I'm not asked again to upgrade and it takes seconds to complete the connection. What might be going on with NC? The users and I are all non-admins but the updater runs as admin. We're using IE11 on Win 7 Pro. The above all started today, 20171020.

I would not expect switch user to drop VPN and this one computer is the only one that did. Since then the user returned home and switch user did not drop VPN so it is suspected it was the hotel's WiFi that was the problem.

I have one user that when VPN connected on Win 7 Pro via DameWare (MRC 11.2.0.91) when I use Switch User the VPN drops. This persists after reboot and reconnecting. The reconnect sometimes says another session is still up. We disconnect that other session. The user and I both connect remotely to the VPN. It is only on this one user's laptop. The user is connected via wifi (hotel) and on battery power (90% charged). Power settings normally have "allow computer to disable the wifi network adapter" set (checked) however that only is supposed to activate for sleep/hibernate, never when active. Is there a setting that drops the VPN on switch user? We know if the user logs off VPN drops so we don't do that.
