Hi For Pulse connections, I am trying to find a way to pass a client system's MAC address back to a DHCP server, but have not been able to identify a way. Tred using DHCP options 50 and 61, but these are "reserved" for use by the IVE. Is there another way to grab a client's MAC address and send it as an option in the DHCP REQUEST? The only solution i found is to manually install the Pulse client on the system. Installing the client via web browser doesnt work on that particular system for some reason. This comes up on about 1 in a 100 web installs. Trevor

i feel your pain... We've been using HC for more than several years with similar experiences. We use more checks than AV, but the AV one is usually the one that pains me. Unfortunately i am not sure other products would offer a more hassle-free process. VPN vendors who offer compliance checcking are somewhat at the mercy of AV vendors when it comes to the ESAP releases. I do find Juniper's documentation limited in resolving AV related issues on my own, and someone always has a different issues. My suggestions: Advise users not to upgrade without checking with your IT if their product and version is currently supported (if it isnt, I generally recommend MSE, which gives me the least headaches). Second, I always test new ESAPs and Firmware releases on a test appliance against our enterprise AV product, and a few other AV products I "recommend to staff. I limit my support to a handful of AV products that i can test on my own (e.g. MSE, AVG). Wishing for a more hassle-free method for host checking.

Hi all, I'm doing some preliminary testing of BlackBerry connectivity to SSL VPN using Pulse. There doesnt seem to be anything available for Playbook VPN access, though PlayBook security settings mention to SSL VPN. Any idea if/when a Pulse client will be released for BB PlayBook, or how Playbook can tie to SSL VPN (other than using a browser of course)? Thanks Trevor

Hi All Attempting to enforce MSS on mobile devices (iphones). Seems pretty straightforward. Simply check the "Enable Mobile Security Check" under the authentication realm's Host Checker settings, but it does not seem to work. I can successfully connect via pulse from my test iphone/ipad, which do NOT yet have the mobile sec suite installed (just Pulse). Am I missing something here. Thanks Trevor

I recently encountered the same issue. It appeared to occur when I enabled Host Checker remediation options for Antivirus (Download latest virus defs, Turn on real time protection, start antivirus scan) or Firewall (Turn on Firewall) Has anyone else used these remedation options? Is this a known issue with the IVE btw i am running ver7.1R1 (latest) on an SA-4000. Trevor
