Hi Sean,     Thanks for the update, I am glad that my suggestion helped you.   Hostchecker module on  pulse will download the latest vrius signatureor patch check    files from IC  for verification.   As per my understanding you can use script  to get your local  AV installed on the client machine  to be up to date and its independent of  hostchecker module.    Hope this clarifies your query.   Note: If I have answered your questions, you could mark this post as accepted solution, that way it could help others as well. The only supported host checking on mac OS X takes place at layer 3.  So you could do dot1x via open protocols and then configure captive portal on a firewall for host checking.  Either that or you could use Pulse for host checking.  You would still need a firewall enforcer though.   The only other thing I could think would be to use our MDM features.  With MDM, the IC will check against someone like Mobile Iron or Airwatch MDM.  That does require the extra part of using an MDM though.   Thanks -Jeff ...
