So it seems I have misunderstood some of the host checker AV settings. If I uncheck both the optional options Norton is fine. If I have either of the optional options checked Norton is not fine. I am going to have a look at other products to see if I can replicate this issue with something other then Norton. I have tested with Avast which is on the virus definitions list but not the scan list and that is fine. When I refer to Norton I am only referring to Norton Security. Other Norton products are fine and Symantec products are fine also. But what it does mean is that either this statement with the optional settings is incorrect or the optional settings are not behaving as they should. "The following check is supported by these Antivirus products. For any other products, this check will be ignored." Anyone shed any light on this or offer any words of wisdom. Regards, Aaron

Wow, I suspected a response by now. Has anyone got any advice, stuff we could try? I'll check and see if our maintenance agreement covers any support. Has no one else had or experiencing these issues? Regards, Aaron

We recently went live with Pulse Secure and although our windows users are fine the other 70% of our workforce are Mac users. Pulse secure is not accepting Norton Security 7.2.0 at all. It is prompting for Mac firewall to be enabled on the various Mac OSX versions and prompting for Norton real time protection to be enabled. I have about 25 Mac users all running Norton security all unable to use Pulse Secure. Real Time protection isn't an option for Norton. We also have issues with those running other Mac AV's such as the latest ESET and F-Secure that are not detected. We use symantec enterprise endpoint (12.1.6) on site and have home use license that work's on the Mac. I am doing this for those users that need to get on. But it is a lot of additional work to uninstall and then reinstall an AV for those users which are not currently able to get on. As this version of Norton Security has been out since July, how long is reasonable amount of time to wait for an update? Also why can't I see this listed as an issue anywhere is there a list of supported and unsupported av and firewalls I should be looking at. Pulse and Opswat both list Norton Security 7.x as supported. Our pulse secure appliance is upto date running 8.2R5.0 and ESAP version 3.0.2 Thanks in advanced, Aaron

Unfortunately the user experience is essential. I work for a small specialist university and this is a solution for academics(artistic types) who are not in the least IT literate and will expect this to be a two click solution. In an ideal world they would go to a web page and just access the rdp server and there files. Getting them to use one app will be challanging enough, but to use multiple apps and configure them will be even more so. I'll record a video of the process for configuring the pulse secure and file/rdp apps and see how they get on. I'll continue to look at this. Thanks for all your input, it has been greatly received.

Is there some way I can onboard a device using 3rd party MDM or the juniper/pulse secure mobile security suite as I could then verify security requirements that way which means I could then disable host checker for ios, is that possible? I would still need host checker enabled for desktop OS's As that would allow ios users to use rdp via the html5 browser session whilst meeting security requirements which is the ultimate goal here?

Hi, I'm setting up my first pulse secure appliance which is a Juniper MAG 4610. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I have created my host checker policy for ios and assigned it to a role. Using the pulse secure app I can connect to the VPN and use the web bookmarks under the intranet button. However I want my ios users to be able to use RDP, I can't see how I can add that as a bookmark in the pulse secure app. Fairly certain I can't and they need to use the web page. They can't access the web page to do this as I get an error which says 'Host Checker is not supported. Please contact your Administrator.' If I turn host checker off, they can access the web page and use the HTML 5 RDP feature but not my java one. Is there a way for them to use either standard RDP or HTML5 RDP with host checker turned on? If so what do I need to do? Regards, Aaron
